Leader Among Men Scholarship 2010

Description

The men of Lambda Phi Epsilon are awarding a $1500 scholarship to an incoming male student at Carnegie Mellon who best exemplifies our fraternity motto: “To be a Leader Among Men”. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize exceptional individuals while also providing applicants with a means for reflection on past accomplishments as well as further self-development in the upcoming college years.

Criteria

All applicants will be judged based on four main criteria: academia, service, leadership, and cultural awareness. A scholarship committee will review your application and you will be notified whether you qualify for an interview. Interviews will be conducted during the first two weeks of school. Note that while academics are stressed, it is equally weighted with the other criteria; therefore, it is important that you demonstrate balance by showing accomplishment across all qualifications.

Note that although we are an Asian-interest fraternity, we welcome everyone to apply since our qualifications for the scholarship are based on character, not ethnicity. Also, applying for this scholarship in no way obligates you to join Lambda Phi Epsilon. This is our gift to you to encourage involvement in the Carnegie Mellon community.
